About Us

How We Started

Bridgeway Play began as a parent-lead effort to enhance the playground in Bridgeway Lakes Community Park. Working with local sponsors, and a team of parent volunteers, we raised over $50,000 to contribute to the City of West Sacramento Parks Dept. to build a better play space for the families of West Sacramento.

The Park was completed and opened in May 2016 and has been a resounding success.

Because of the success we had in designing, building and fundraising for this project we created a non-profit organization to build and enhance creative play spaces, and produce family friendly events promoting local sponsors, all over West Sacramento.

In 2018 our goal is to raise $30,000, along with funding from the the City of West Sacramento Parks and Recreation Dept., to build shade structures at Summerfield Park (off Linden) this year, then move on for a total of 2 parks a year for the next 5 years.
